What is Civil Engineering?

Certification on successful completion of studies:

Students write national examinations set and administered by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).  Certificates and diplomas are conferred by the (DHET) which are nationally recognized and internationally relevant.  Successful students graduate with the following:

National Diploma: Engineering Studies (67043), NQF Level 6

To qualify, you must successfully achieve all three N4-N6 certificates and gain at least 2 years of work experience (a minimum of 2,670 hours) in an engineering environment. Once you’ve completed these steps, your logbook will be submitted to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for review, marking the final step in your journey to becoming fully qualified.

Admission Requirements

You need to have achieved ONE of the following:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
  • N3 Engineering Certificate

Programme Duration

The study programme spans 2 years full-time (N4-N6), offering engaging lectures delivered on campus by experienced professionals, creating a supportive and interactive learning environment. After completing the theoretical component, 2-years industry-specific practical experience in an engineering environment is required, culminating in the award of the National N Diploma: Engineering Studies.
