Unigrad College’s Merit Awards: A Celebration of Academic Excellence

The annual graduation ceremony of Unigrad College on 24 May 2025, was a testament to the hard work and dedication of its students. Among the notable achievements was the recognition of 12 top-performing graduates who received the prestigious Merit Award. This accolade is a nod to the academic excellence that Unigrad College strives to instil in its students.

According to Riaan Loubser, Unigrad College Principal, “The Merit Award is more than just a recognition of academic achievement; it’s a celebration of the potential and talent that our students possess. By acknowledging their hard work and dedication, we aim to inspire future generations of students to strive for excellence.”

Elinah Mabuza, Unigrad College Academic Director, adds, “The Merit Award is a reflection of our commitment to academic rigor and excellence. It’s a badge of honour that sets our graduates apart in a competitive job market. Employers and clients take notice of this achievement, as it demonstrates a graduate’s ability to excel in their field.”

The Merit Award holds significant value for prospective employers and clients. It serves as a testament to a graduate’s work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and ability to excel in their chosen field. As Loubser notes, “When employers see that a candidate has received the Merit Award, they know they’re getting someone who has demonstrated exceptional academic ability and a strong work ethic.”

For the graduates who received the Merit Award, it’s a recognition of their tireless efforts and a stepping stone to future success. As they embark on their careers, they’ll carry with them the knowledge that they’ve been recognised for their excellence, and that they’re equipped to make a meaningful impact in their chosen fields.

The student volunteers truly shone, demonstrating exceptional dedication and enthusiasm. We couldn’t be prouder of our Unigrad College students, who are not only making a positive impact in their communities but also shaping the future leadership of our nation.

On this evening, we celebrated cancer survivors and remembered those lost to cancer. We will continue to fight back against cancer so that more birthdays can be celebrated more often.
